We invite you to make reservations in St. Petersburg's hotels. The reservation deadline is March 15, 2004. Please, make your hotel reservation as soon as possible, because the period of 14-19 June is a high tourist season in Saint Petersburg. The reservation can be cancelled without charge until 3 days before arrival.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

The Symposium will take place in the Academy of Science Main Building:

St. Petersburg, Universitetskaya nab. 5/2. The location of this building is marked "A" in these maps: St_Petersburg_scheme.jpg, St_Petersburg_map.pdf and St_Petersburg_center.pdf (zoom in on a particular location to get higher resolution map).

Bus transportation will be arranged twice a day for participants staying in these hotels: in the morning, from the hotels to the Main Building of Academy of Science, and after the evening sessions back to the hotels.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

  • The tram, bus or trolleybus fare is 7 roubles; tickets can be purchased inside the tram/bus/trolleybus. 
  • Metro token costs 8 roubles and can be purchased at metro stations; 
  • Shuttle bus from airport to the nearest metro staion: 10-15 roubles; travelling time is about 20 min by bus. 
IMPORTANT VISA REMINDER

Participants needed Russian visa should send all required documents for letters of invitations to Dr Kirill Maslennikov (km@gao.spb.ru) as soon as possible because this is a long bureaucratic process.
