Abstract
We discuss the drift of the large-scale magnetic field resulted from interaction of the cyclonic convective motions and the differential rotation in the solar convection zone. The magnetic field drifts in direction of the large-scale vorticity which is induced by the differential rotation. Helioseismology predicts the strong vertical shear near the boundaries of the solar convection zone. This results to domination of the meridional component of the large-scale vorticity over its radial component. Therefore, the helicity-vorticity effect is important when one discusses the mechanisms of the equatorial drift of the sunspot activity. We examine the given effect for the mean-field solar dynamo model and compare the efficiency of the helicity-vorticity drift effect with the meridional circulation.
