GIF movie of the 2003 April 24 filament eruption and accompanied X-ray emission (frame-rate: slow).
Left:
TRACE 195 images (labeled with exposure intervals in UT) near the west limb,
showing the evolution of the filament. Note the helical feature appearing during
the late stage.
Right:
Same TRACE 195 images (unspiked, in different color scales) superimposed
with RHESSI 3-6 keV X-ray emission as contours (at 30%, 60%, 90% of the image maximum).
Note the episodic splitting of the X-ray emission from a single source to a double source
morphology. Each of these three episodes coincides with an increased X-ray flux and plasma temperature,
suggestive of increased magnetic reconnection and energy release rates, as elaborated in the paper.
